Here is some basic information to familiarize GelinAbaci authorized jewelers with the Tension Collection. After reading it take our quiz to test your knowledge.
To appreciate the uniqueness of the Tension Setting it is important to understand the following:
General GelinAbaci Information
- The Tension Concept started in the 1950's.
- GelinAbaci is one of four companies in the world, and one of two in the United States that manufacture Tension Jewelry.
- GelinAbaci manufactures the largest selection of unique Tension Styles in the world.
- With over 55,000 units sold, there have been no diamond losses due to construction, design, and craftsmanship
Tension Information
- Each Tension Ring is made especially to the consumer's specifications.
- Depending on the style, there is 65 to 95 lbs of pressure applied to the girdle of the center stone.
- The Tension Setting allows the maximum amount of light to pass through the center of the stone, creating brilliance that is superior to all traditional settings (prong, bezel, channel, etc.).
- Tension Products are available in platinum, platinum/18k. combination, 18k. and 14k.
- Most Tension Set Rings by GelinAbaci can be sized ¼ size smaller or larger. Sizing depends upon the particular style, finger size, and center stone size. This service is provided free of charge (shipping charges will apply).
- In order to accommodate customers who need more than a ¼ size adjustment, GelinAbaci will replace your customers ring with a new ring in the requested size, for a minimal fee.
- Since each ring is made to the consumers specifications, delivery time for Tension Jewelry is approximately 15 working days or less from the time we receive the stone. (Faxing orders with diamond measurements can expedite the delivery time).
- Every Tension Ring sold will contain an authenticity card, which has a serial number. (Serial number allows GelinAbaci to track date of purchase and any modifications performed).
- Diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and moissanites can be Tension Set. (For a stone to be Tension Set it must have a hardness of nine or above on the gem hardness scale).
- GelinAbaci must perform all Tension Sizing and Setting services.
- GelinAbaci can set as small as a 10-point stone and as large as a 10-carat stone.
- Special orders for matching bands can be designed for most Tension Styles.
- GelinAbaci uses a laser welding process to attach two rings together, as no heat can be applied to the Tension Ring.
- Authorized GelinAbaci Jewelers can clean consumer's Tension Jewelry with the normal care used in cleaning all fine jewelry.
